HSCP collaborates with #BeeWell programme to improve the wellbeing of young people

Date: Friday, 26th Jul 2024 | Category: Uncategorized

Hampshire Safeguarding Children Partnership are delighted to be a coalition partner with the #BeeWell programme.

#BeeWell is a youth-centred, wellbeing programme.  Starting with a co-created survey in secondary schools, #BeeWell seeks to understand what factors influence young people’s wellbeing and what makes them thrive. It aims to drive action across a coalition of partners to improve young people’s wellbeing.

Launched in Greater Manchester in 2019, the #BeeWell programme expanded into Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth, and Southampton (HIPS) in 2023; with over 22,000 young people across the HIPS area in Years 8 and 10 participating in the programme. A headline report has been published, sharing some of the initial findings from the survey.

For the second year of the survey, the #BeeWell survey will be delivered by students in Years 9 and 10 in the autumn term.  In return, schools involved receive a private, bespoke data dashboard providing insights into their students’ wellbeing. They are supported in a 1:1 session to interpret their results and identify priority areas for improvement. An interactive neighbourhood-level dashboard, the #BeeWell Neighbourhood Data Hive, has been published, showcasing the findings across 46 neighbourhoods in the region.

Young people, schools, and partners are now actively responding to the findings. You can find out what young people have said about the findings that are most important to them here, and about some innovative co-created action plans in schools here.
